Share the Love: Valentines FavorCake Giveaway.

I hope everyone is having a great start to 2011.  Valentines Day is a month away and one of the running jokes between my husband and I is our very first Valentines together before we were married. My husband, then boyfriend, took me to the experimental theater to see a play about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Yeah. Screams romantic, right? Ten years later, I still won't let him live that one down :-)

On to the giveaway, one lucky winner will receive a handmade Valentines theme FavorCake with 12 boxes, filled with candy.  To enter, leave a comment below telling me the best, worst, funniest, or most memorable Valentines gift you've received. Don't forget to leave your email with your entry. I will pick one winner at random and announce it on my blog Tuesday February 1st. Contest closes on January 31, 2011 at 11:59pm CST.

Thanks for participating!

My favorite gift (and now a wonderful tradition) is the first time my Fiance and I decided to wait until the day after V-day to go get presents. He told me to choose any and all the candy/ stuffed animals I wanted!
It was awesome, and a fun way to go on a date. Now, every year we get to see each other on Valentines day, the day after we have a standing date!

The worst Valentine's Day was when my husband was deployed to Iraq. They left the day before Valentine's Day. I spent that day alone... and he spent it alone in Iraq. But we know Valentine's is just a day... we know we need to celebrate each other every day of our lives. :)

The best Valentines Day was in 2005. It was the day my husband gave me a new bible with my name engraved on the front. But it wasn't just my name... it was my first name with his last name... He then asked me to marry him. <3 I love how from the very beginning... we have kept God first :)

My high school sweetheart broke up with me the night before Valentines day BY PHONE and then asked if we could "keep it quiet" so all our friends wouldn't say anything about it. He DID give me a nice necklace the next morning, but c' mon!

my favorite Valentine's was our first Valentine's when we were dating. He brought me 2 dozen balloons, roses, a pretty bracelet/necklace set, and a huge gift basket from bath & body works- it was going to be a perfect night...but when we went to dinner EVERYTHING was 2-3 hour waits, and I was hungry, so we went to IHOP and had pancakes. We always laugh when we pass "our" IHOP, we even spent another V-day there w/ our kids. This will be our 9th Valentine together! The presents were great, and the memory was priceless!

Ok, This is my story. From the day my husband and I decided we wanted to have kids, we knew we wanted them as close in age as we could get them. :) So, we started trying for our first one in October 2006. We actively tried for 5 months with no success until Feb. 13th, when my daughter was concieved. Then when my daughter was 11 months old (October 2008) we started trying for our second child. We actively tried for 5 months with no success until Feb. 14th, when my son was concieved. Coincidence? The doc said some women just have specific days of the year that they are MOST FERTILE. Those were the two best Valentines Day presents ever! However, from now on, as you can imagine, we keep far away from the bedroom on Valentines day now! LOL :)

Scarlett, Love your story.
Love all of the stories!
I think we had a really nice 1st Valentine's out at Sullivan's in Austin. Since then, we really haven't done anything memorable...well good memorable (I had a miscarriage on Valentine's night in 2006). I want to come up with something to make the day happy and upbeat for Eddie and Liam...not sure what to do....maybe pick a place to eat out and make it a tradition like Stephanie?? Need to think of something special!!

My husband and I decided a few years ago to have an "over the top" Valentine's Day... The challenge was to find the cheesiest, make-you-sick-its-so-cliche, random gifts we could find for one another. I filled his truck cab with red, white and pink heart balloons (which he kept in there while driving to and from PT that morning, haha), a giant chocolate heart, and a bag full of Valentine's bear-themed items (my pet name for him is Bear, so it was fitting!). In return.. I received a GIANT singing mylar balloon, a GIANT singing PINK gorilla and a GIANT greeting card full of confetti that went all over the place when I opened it.. Clearly, he won that year! :)

My favorite gift was the simple gesture of roses and a teddy bear. Trust me, if you knew what he was coming from you would understand that it was a good gift. I will say that he comes from a father who gave his mother a toilet seat for Valentine's Day. So see where it worked out for me? LOL!

In 2003 at midnight my hubby - then boyfriend dropped to his knee and proposed :0) It took me completely by surprise because I/we always joked about how cheesy it is to get proposed/married on V-day! Boy was I WRONG!!! He really went all out. We were at his apt and in the living room. Unbeknownst to me he had set pink candles and pink rose petals in his room...yea this is a good spot to end the story LOL!!!

The best Valentine's Day I every had was with my ex-husband. He got us a pizza from Pizza Hut and we ate it at the table together. It was so romantic. It sounds pretty dull, but when you are in love...chaplaindonna@empoweredpeace.org

We never have any money, my husband and I, to get each other gifts for Valentine's Day, or any other holiday for that matter. We just do for the kids, and don't gift each other. He is a truck driver, so, we dont get to spend most holidays together anyhow, just Christmas usually. I guess that means, I don't have any memorable gifts. I've been with him 20 years, I dont remember anything before that, LOL! Pamela (pampereddivagifts@gmail.com
